(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Thursday, January 25 at 11:00 a.m., Mayor Bowser and the District of Columbia Fire and EMS Department will be joined by representatives of the American Red Cross to announce the new Whole Blood Program, an initiative that will support and train paramedics in performing pre-hospital blood transfusions for trauma patients.
Through a partnership with DC Government, the American Red Cross will contribute to the blood supply deployed throughout DC on Fire and EMS Units.
