(WASHINGTON, DC) – On Friday, April 28 at 7 pm, Mayor Muriel Bowser will honor the courageous acts of bravery from fire fighters, paramedics, EMTs and support teams to save the lives of DC residents and visitors. Joined by Chief Gregory Dean, DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services (DCFEMS), Mayor Bowser will highlight the skill, professionalism, and dedication to protect all residents and visitors across Washington, DC.
Since 2015, the Bowser Administration has improved DCFEMS by filling critical vacancies and bolstering DC’s previously depleted apparatus fleet. In just two years, the Administration has hired an additional 45 firefighter paramedics and 48 firefighter EMTs, and put 34 new or refurbished ambulances and 12 new or refurbished ladder trucks and engines on the street.
