The DC law firm of Spriggs & Hollingsworth presented a check February 12 to the Friendship Firefighters Association to fund the operation of the DC Fire/EMS Canteen Unit for the year 2002. The Canteen Unit, operated by FFA on a volunteer basis, provides food and drinks to DC firefighters and EMS workers on the scene of major incidents.

"What a great way for the Fire/EMS Department to connect to our community," said Chief Few. "It gives business owners here a sense of ownership in our service and our city."
