FEMS to Provide Free CPR Training and Safety Information at NBC4 Health and Fitness Expo

Fire & EMS staff will also be on hand to provide advice and literature on a wide range of fire safety and health topics for both children and adults.

Washington, D.C. (January 13, 2012) – From 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15, 2012, the District of Columbia’s Fire and Emergency Medical Services (F&EMS) Department will have an exhibit at the 19th Annual NBC 4 Health and Fitness Expo at the Washington Convention Center.

In addition to having the newest Fire & EMS apparatus on display, the Department will provide free CPR certification classes on a first-come-first-serve basis. Also, free blood pressure and glucose screenings will be offered as well as registration for free smoke alarm installation (for District residents).

Fire & EMS staff will also be on hand to provide advice and literature on a wide range of fire safety and health topics for both children and adults.

Fire & EMS Chief Kenneth B. Ellerbe will be on hand from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on both days to answer questions and provide District residents with updates about the department’s accomplishments and policies.
