DC Fire/EMS Springs Into Action
Join DC Fire/EMS Chief Adrian H. Thompson Saturday April 3 at Engine Co. 8 as he and Fire/EMS personnel distribute free smoke alarms through the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Washington. It’s part of a regional effort to remind people how critical smoke alarms are to saving lives in the event of a fire and to encourage people to change the batteries in their smoke alarms as they set their clocks forward one hour this weekend.
Daylight Savings Time returns at 2 am Sunday. Every year, DC Fire/EMS reminds citizens to change their smoke alarm batteries during this time of year.
“It’s a time for us to get out a variety of safety messages,” said Chief Thompson, who noted homeowners in the District can receive a free smoke alarm . Visit our Fire Prevention Division at 441 4th Street, NW with proof of residence to receive a device – or – call FPD at (202) 727-1614.
