DCFEMS Selects District-based Consulting Firm to Perform Audit of Vehicle Fleet

Tuesday, July 23, 2013
A review of the vehicle inventory and maintenance system will be conducted

The District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (DCFEMS) has selected BDA Global to perform an audit that will examine the department’s current fleet capacity and management practices.

“The department looks forward to the assistance, resources and experience being provided by BDA Global to help us become more efficient and responsive in our fleet operations,” said DCFEMS Chief Kenneth B. Ellerbe. “The audit will contribute to establishing a new baseline for frontline emergency vehicle readiness and capacity.”

BDA Global, a District-based consulting firm that specializes in business process improvement, emergency management and continuity planning, has assembled a team of the nation’s top fire department performance improvement specialists that includes:

  • SPC/TriData, an Arlington, VA based consultant company that helps fire departments improve their efficiency
  • Mercury Associates, Inc., a Gaithersburg, MD based fleet management consulting and services firm with experience assessing state and local government fleet management systems

Both firms have recently collaborated on similar projects that were successful in San Antonio, TX and Vancouver, BC.

“This team is committed to completing a comprehensive fleet management study of the highest quality that will benefit the District of Columbia, its citizens and frequent visitors,” said Gaston Boisson, Managing Director of BDA Global. “Our goal is to provide sustainable solutions and successful outcomes. That’s our promise.”

The review period for the audit, which began last week, will be completed within 60 days. The department will receive the report after the review period has been completed.
