The District of Columbia Fire and EMS Department offers Fire Safety Education as a Community Risk Reduction (CRR) initiative. The goal of fire safety education is to provide a better public understanding of fire safety.

The DC Fire and EMS Department’s Fire Safety Education team will teach about the dangers of fire and what to do if there is a fire in your home.

The Fire Safety Education team travels to schools, community meetings, faith-based group meetings, and other events to teach fire safety. Training can include interactive games and activities suitable for children,

Every school year, the DC Fire and EMS Department strive to do their part in educating children about the dangers of fire, and what to do if ever there's a fire in their home.
