Performance Averages

Tuesday, September 1, 2015

The graphs on the Performance Averages page represent the Department’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that are reported monthly. They show the average amount of minutes and seconds it takes the first unit of each type to be dispatched and arrive at the scene of a critical medical call as defined by dispatch procedures. Lower-priority / less-urgent calls are categorized as A or B or Omega and Higher Priority / More-urgent calls are categorized as C or D or E, which is the highest.

The first graph represents the Average amount of time it takes for the First EMT (which are on Engines, Trucks, Ambulances, Medic Units and EMS Officers) to arrive at the scene of a Critical medical emergency.

The second graph represents the average amount of time it takes for the First Paramedic (which are on some Engines and Trucks as well as on Medic Units and EMS Officers) to arrive at the scene of a Critical medical emergency.

The third graph represents the average amount of time it takes for the First Ambulance (which is an Ambulance, a down-graded Medic Unit – term “Basic” and also Medic Units) to arrive at the scene of a Critical medical emergency.
