Yesterday’s Response Time

For a quick view of response time performance, call volume and trends, FEMS provides an interactive dashboard of simplified operating measures for EMS (G1) and Fire (G2) calls (please click here for an explanation of FEMS call types). The dashboard displays yesterday’s response time performance and call volume, but can be adjusted by the user to display different time and date ranges. Simplified operating measures include:

  • EMS First Response in 5 min or Less. This gauge shows the percentage of high priority EMS calls (G1, C2 and C3) when a first responder arrived in 5 minutes or less after dispatch. Average response time in seconds is shown at the bottom.
  • EMS First Paramedic in 9 min or Less. This gauge shows the percentage of high priority EMS calls (G1, C2 and C3) when the first responding paramedic arrived in 9 minutes or less after dispatch. Average response time in seconds is shown at the bottom.
  • EMS First Transport Unit in 9 min or Less. This gauge shows the percentage of high priority EMS calls (G1, C2 and C3) when the first responding FEMS transport unit arrived in 9 minutes or less after dispatch. Average response time in seconds is shown at the bottom.
  • EMS Transport Unit at Hospital for 30 min or Less. This gauge shows the percentage of calls when a FEMS transport unit spent 30 minutes or less at a hospital when completing a patient transport (also called “drop time”). Average drop time in seconds is shown at the bottom.
  • FIRE First Engine at Structure Fire in 5 min 20 sec or Less. This gauge shows the percentage of high priority structure fire calls (G2, C3) when the first responding fire engine arrived in 5 minutes 20 seconds or less after dispatch. Average response time in seconds is shown at the bottom.
  • Incident Counts by Group and Class. This graph shows the number of EMS (G1) and Fire or Other (G2,G3) calls by priority including “high priority” (C2,C3) and “lower priority” (C1) calls.
  • Average Incident Counts by Hour. This graph shows the average number of EMS (G1) and Fire or Other (G2,G3) calls by hour during the day.
  • Incident Counts by Day.  This graph shows the number of EMS (G1) and Fire or Other (G2,G3) calls by day.
  • Response Counts by Unit Type. This graph shows the number of FEMS unit responses by unit type (EMS or Fire).
