Technical Inspection Section

The Technical Inspection Section of the Fire Prevention Bureau conducts inspections for health care facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, intermediate care facilities, day care centers, day care homes, foster care homes, universities, correctional facilities, nuisance properties, aboveground storage tank and underground storage tank installations, and hazardous materials storage. It inspects and tests fireworks, investigates hazardous materials spills, removals and abandonments, and investigates complaints within their assigned area of responsibility. The Technical Inspection Section also conducts license renewal inspections for day care centers, hospitals, intermediate care facility for the mentally retarded (ICF/MR), ambulatory surgical and nursing homes.
